Citizens
LeadsOnline is contacted almost daily by Citizens. Some folks get in touch with us because they are a victim of crime, seeking rightful return of their missing property. Some want help with an Internet transaction gone awry. Others just like what we do and would love to see LeadsOnline serving their community.
You should know that LeadsOnline is a national information system used exclusively by authorized law enforcement agencies conducting criminal investigations. Civilians cannot access LeadsOnline. LeadsOnline cannot perform investigative functions for civilians, but we do care, so we have compiled some information to help you:

If you are a victim of a crime involving property
Please file a complaint/police report with the jurisdiction in which the crime took place. If the department doesn't have LeadsOnline, tell the investigator assigned to your case to register for our free 30-day trial at www.leadsonline.com. It will take him or her only two minutes to register with us, and they'll be able to electronically search for your property among millions of records from all 50 states. We make it easy for them to find your needle in the haystack.
Most LeadsOnline searches take less than 1 second, which is faster and more effective than walking the streets going to pawn, secondhand and Internet drop-off stores looking for your belongings.
If you believe you are the victim of an Internet-related property crime
Please contact the Fraud unit at your local law enforcement agency. In some agencies, this investigative team is known as "Internet Crimes" or "White Collar Crimes." You may also report your complaint to the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI)'s Internet Crime Complaint Center by visiting their website: www.ic3.gov.
If the potential crime involved a listing on the eBay website
eBay works to keep its members safe and prevent illegal transactions on its website without compromising the privacy of its member community. Certain member information is made available to law enforcement investigators via LeadsOnline First Responder Service for criminal investigations. If you believe you are the victim of a crime involving a listing on eBay, simply contact your local law enforcement agency and request that they access LeadsOnline First Responder Service to work your case. Even if they don't use other LeadsOnline services, they can access First Responder Service, 24 hours a day, seven days a week in real time on an individual case basis.
Reporting an eBay Listing to eBay
To make it easier for eBay shoppers to report possible listing violations, eBay has placed a "Report this Item" link at the bottom of every listing page. This link will bypass the Contact Us flow and take you directly to a list of possible reasons why a listing needs to be brought to eBay's attention. This will save you valuable time and help eBay review potential listing violations quickly.
Reporting your complaint to eBay
You may choose to report a complaint to the eBay Security and Resolution Center, where eBay investigators read email reports from members and act on them. To file a report: Please go to eBay complaints and follow applicable instructions.
Questions about your eBay account
If you have other questions about your eBay account or any related issues, please click on the following link: eBay account help and follow applicable instructions.
We hope this is helpful to you. If you need additional assistance, please email us at support@leadsonline.com or call us at 972.361.0900.
Citizen Testimonial
The following is a sample of the success stories we receive from civilians. If you have one of your own, email us at imarockstar@leadsonline.com. We’ll send you a thank you and something cool to wear to spread the LeadsOnline love.
“…While I was away on vacation with friends and family, my house got broken into. They stole around $10,000 worth of stuff from my house made up mostly of DVDs and computer equipment. The local police had caught two people breaking into a different house, and one of the suspects pointed out that my house was one of 20 others they had broken into recently.
When the suspect mentioned that they had sold some of the stuff to two pawn shops in Little Rock, Arkansas, I made a trip to see what I could find. I contacted an officer in the Little Rock Police Department’s Burglary Squad who mentioned your site could help. The officer then took the suspects’ names from my police report, and started looking them up on your site. In 5 minutes, he had found where one of the suspects had sold a lot of DVDs to a particular pawn shop that was not one of the ones the suspect had mentioned. The number sold sounded exactly like the number that had been stolen.
With the help of the pawn shop and this officer from the LRPD, my $4500 worth of DVDs are now back in my house. I didn’t expect to see any of my stuff again, especially the DVDs.
I had never heard of your website before, but I’m glad it’s there. In talking with the local police department, they mentioned that they were looking at trying to get it soon.
I will be telling any law enforcement officer and any pawn shop owners I see about your site. Because of you, I got back something I thought I had lost forever. Thanks for being there.”
