LEADSONLINE SIGNS 400th CLIENT, SURPASSES 70 MILLION TRANSACTION RECORDS
Online law enforcement database hits two new milestones
DALLAS, August 31, 2005 – LeadsOnline, the nation’s largest investigative system used by law enforcement to solve crimes involving property, recently achieved two major milestones. The company signed the Anderson County (South Carolina) Sheriff’s Office as its 400th law enforcement agency client. Additionally, the LeadsOnline database surpassed 70 million records, and it continues to grow at more than 120,000 records each business day.
LeadsOnline provides law enforcement investigators a powerful, data rich and user-friendly search engine that allows them to rapidly comb tens of millions of transaction receipts from pawn and secondhand stores across the country, looking for suspects and stolen property. Investigators use the LeadsOnline service to obtain critical leads that assist in solving crimes ranging from burglary to homicide, arson, identity theft and narcotics crimes.
Data is uploaded to LeadsOnline daily to a secure database via the Web by more than 2,000 pawn and secondhand stores across the country.
“We are very excited about the capability we have with LeadsOnline to track stolen property. We were sold when we located stolen property during the first week of our trial period with the service. Our department also saves literally hundreds of clerical hours with LeadsOnline, as we no longer have to enter the pawn tickets by hand. It’s refreshing to move from an archaic system into the 21st century,” said Captain Tommy Williams of the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office.
The LeadsOnline investigative service currently operates in 21 states – from Oregon to Kentucky, North Dakota to Louisiana, and is the largest Electronic Data Transfer (EDT) service of its kind.
