The Medford Police Department reports the arrest of the following subject on seventeen (17) felony theft and five (5) misdemeanor theft charges as a result of a recent investigation:

 

  

Suspect:                     SCOTT, DAVID MARK, dob/012673

                                    226 Laurel St, Medford

 

Lodged in the Jackson County Jail on charges of:

                                    Theft 1st degree – 5 counts

                                    Theft 1st degree by receiving – 12 counts

                                    Theft 2nd degree – 5 counts

                                    TOTAL BAIL:                       $105,000.00

 

Information was received by local retail store security that a suspect had been seen stealing a large television. A Medford police officer was able to identify the suspect from the surveillance video and additional investigative work began. The “leads on line” electronic pawn record system revealed numerous items sold or pawned by this same individual at numerous locations.

 

The suspect was contacted on 090706 at 2:55 p.m. after he arrived at another pawn-buy and sell store with more “high dollar” new tools to sell.

 

The suspect was taken into custody, interviewed, and lodged at the Jackson County Jail. A portion of the stolen merchandise from local retailers has been recovered. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is also involved in this investigation.

 

The investigation continues.
