UNLV Police made an arrest Thursday in connection with the September thefts of electronic equipment
from the FDH building.
According to Gian Galassi from UNLV Public Affairs, Gratis E. Woolen was charged with burglary,
possession of burglary tools and trespassing after inside Room 109 with disconnected equipment by
police officers.
Woolen, who was not a UNLV student or employee, had in his possession a stolen UNLV Marlok
card that had been reported lost. That card gave him access to enter secured FDH rooms.
Also in his possession were 37 pawn tickets, with some of the pawned property being items that
were stolen from UNLV.
Gratis does not have a Nevada address but is a resident of California.
On Sept. 18 a Dell computer system was reported stolen from FDH 235, while by Sept. 24 three
more iMacs were missing from FDH 234.
Two DVD/VCR players were also reported missing in September.
After the Dell theft from Room 235, all students who had been given Marlock cards were asked
to return them.
After the cards were returned students were then given limited, supervised access.
Since the first week of classes, 60 students had been given Marlock cards with access to the building.
Woolen will be arraigned this morning at 7:30 a.m.
The investigation is still ongoing.
