DANVILLE – Pittsylvania County Sheriff's Office and Danville Police Department have received a $1,200 grant from Target Corp. for "Operation Leads Online."
The grant will help fund software for an online investigation system used by law enforcement to recover stolen property.
Target supports law enforcement agencies across the country through its "Target & Blue" grant program.
Aaron Evans, Target's assets protection team leader in Danville, worked with Sheriff Mike Taylor and Danville Police Department Capt. Dennis Haley to apply for the public safety grant.
"We are proud to have such dedicated law enforcement officials to work with," Evans said.
Target manager Eric Frazier agreed.
"Target is committed to the community we live and work in," he said. "We try to help those who help others."
Taylor thanked Target for its support.
"I am very grateful and appreciative for the support the employees of the Danville Target store have offered our agencies and our community," the sheriff said. "This is a true example of teamwork for our community."
