Stuff Stolen by Friends Helping a Friend Move --- Found Fast!
My victim was moving into a new house and had some friends helping her move. After getting moved in, she realized her Wii was missing as was a JVC Camcorder. She filed a report and when I contacted her she gave me the names of the people who'd helped her move. I ran a LeadsOnline check of the friends and found two of them (boyfriend, girlfriend) had pawned several items at several local pawn shops. I was able to locate the JVC Camcorder, put a hold on it, and arranged for the owner to pick it up. One suspect has been arrested and the other has made arrangements to turn himself. We also located two lawn mowers that they pawned that were stolen on separate incidents this past week.
Thanks LeadsOnline for making things easy.

Three Cases Solved With One Search
A Deputy in the Nye County Sheriff's Office took a report of a burglary. Upon returning to the office, the Deputy ran the property through LeadsOnline. Immediately, he got a hit for a camera in LeadsOnline that had been taken during the burglary. The Deputy and I identified that the suspect who had pawned the camera was also identified as a possible suspect in a burglary of a residence down the street as well.
Using the information provided by LeadsOnline, police tracked the suspect down. Interviews and further investigation identified two additional suspects involved in this case. All three individuals were arrested and were booked into NCSO Detention Center. A search warrant was executed on the suspect's residence and a majority of the stolen items were recovered from the residence. During a search of the residence, several items were also located that had been taken during a third burglary that had not previously been linked to these suspects.
So, in whole, due to the Deputy running the serial number of a camera through LeadsOnline, we were able to apprehend three burglars, close out three seperate and unrelated burglaries, and the investigation is still ongoing into other possible burglaries.

We want to recognize our CID Assistant Shannon Hill for all his hard work and expertise helping us track and recover stolen property through LeadsOnline.

Kentucky Police Reunite Boy with His Game System
A state trooper asked me to conduct some searches on LeadsOnline relating to a burglary case he was working. The stolen items included a Wii system and some games. They belonged to a young boy of around 11 years old. I was able to find the system and the games and the trooper picked them up and returned them to the young boy that night.
The boy was so appreciative of our work that he tried to give the trooper one of his basketball trophies! I received an email the next day from the trooper telling me the little boy said to tell me thanks.

LeadsOnline Trial Period Helps Police in AL Find Gun Stolen in 2004
In July 2010, our agency (Henry County Sheriff’s Office) signed up for the 30-day trial period of LeadsOnline. On the first day, we were able to locate a firearm that was stolen in a burglary in 2004. The firearm was located in a Pawn Shop on the other side of the state far outside of our normal search area. With that information, we were able to track the firearm back to a possible suspect. Due to a reporting error on NCIC, the weapon had been pawned several times without a hit. Without LeadsOnline it probably would have never been located.
It was a group effort between the Henry County SO and Abbeville PD Task Force in recovering the weapon and tracking it back to a primary suspect.

Stolen Guns Found After Being Pawned in Another State
I worked a burglary were several guns were stolen. Upon checking LeadsOnline, I found three of the stolen guns in Memphis. So Many Ways to Search On LeadsOnline
Around the middle of May, a burglary report came across my desk that I thought should be routine, like all the rest, but this one continued to elude me and my leads. I'd heard of LeadsOnline from an investigator I've worked with from another jurisdiction.
I had exhausted every lead I had and other cases were piling up, so I put this one on the back burner. Every other day or so, I punched in the serial number in the search engine to no avail. After a week of that I remembered you told me of the different ways to search and search the approximate serial number and BAM! there it was! Without LeadsOnline I couldn't have solved this case.
Thanks Anya, you have been a great help , showing the several different ways LeadsOnline can help me help my community. If the rest of the staff at LeadsOnline are as helpful as you then you guys need to give yourselves a pat on the back.

LeadsOnline Helps Get Full Confession
During a recent St. Peters investigation of a Felony Burglary, a suspected acquaintance of the victim's daughter was a well-known local heroin addict. The suspect in this incident kicked in a rear door of the residence and over $8,000 in reported jewelry and electronics were reported stolen.
A subsequent investigation included surprising the suspect at his weekly probation & parole meeting and the subject was taken into custody. During further interrogation, the suspect was interviewed and later presented with multiple LeadsOnline printouts showing the suspect pawning the stolen jewelry and other items from the burglary.
After being presented with the LeadsOnline tickets showing the dates an times the suspect pawned the stolen jewelry & tools, the suspect made a full confession regarding the burglary and stealing. The suspect admitted to selling some of the items to pawn shops and trading other items for heroin from his drug dealer. The suspect’s probation was revoked and he is currently incarcerated facing a 7-year backup for the probation violation and additional time if convicted on the two other felony charges.

Seattle-Area Agencies Catching the Bad Guys Using LeadsOnline
Last week, there was an interrupted residential burglary. A Patrol Officer spotted the suspect’s car and the chase was on. The suspect got away but I was able to identify him. Through LeadsOnline, I found that one of the suspect's associates had recently pawned several items and I matched the items to a recent car prowl case.
I arrested the guy who pawned the items and he admitted to pawning them for the guy that we had earlier chased. Because of LeadsOnline, I was able to arrest one guy, get some stolen property back to the owner, and get additional charges on the guy who ran from us.
Also, last month I was working a group who were breaking into homes all over the Puget Sound area. Using LeadsOnline, I was able to tie them to several other burglaries and get property back to the owners.

Colorado Agency Uses LeadsOnline to Solve Cases With "No Leads."
I use LeadsOnline everyday as a civilian pawn investigator assigned to the Property Crimes Division in Detectives. There are countless times I have found stolen property in pawn shops in cases that were initially closed with "no leads."
I was able to use LeadsOnline to find stolen property in 12 cases that were linked to one suspect who had been breaking into cars in our city and a neighboring city. The same suspect escalated his behavior and began stealing store "spinner" displays of gold jewelry, and pawning the jewelry. The story has a happy ending for us and the victims, not so much for the arrestee.
A similar case occurred where a suspect broke into a heating and air conditioning repair van, stole several high-end tools, and pawned them. Using LeadsOnline, I was able to locate those tools and research the suspect's pawn history. I found that he had pawned several similar items in May of last year. Those items were then matched to a theft case that had occurred in our city!
Cases that had originally been closed with no leads were cleared. LeadsOnline makes it easy to solve pawn violation cases and return stolen property to victims. The suspects are left wondering how we found out about their crimes so fast! Thanks!

Teenage Son and His Buddies Steal Mom's Credit Card --- and Get Caught!
I recently had a case where a mother claimed her son had stolen her credit card and used it to purchase $529.78 worth of video game systems and games. I ran the name of the suspect’s son through LeadsOnline and did not find him. But, I then ran his friends and associates and found one of them had pawned the same video game system and games that were purchased by the suspect the day before. I retrieved the items and also the video from the pawn shop.
I was able to get a full confession from the friend and the suspect, who also confessed to another crime of check fraud. Two more of my cases solved through LeadsOnline!

Onalaska, Wisconsin: Solving Crime With LeadsOnline
I am a relatively new user of LeadsOnline and still exploring all of the features. On an afternoon when I found some free time, I was searching NCIC hits. In a matter of one half hour, I located a chain saw and Microsoft MP3 player that appeared to have been stolen from two agencies in our area.
This seemed way too simple, punch a couple keys find stolen items .... so I called Erin at LeadsOnline to make sure I was correct. She helped me confirm that these were good hits. (Thanks Erin, you are always so helpful ... Go Packers!)
I notified the agencies, who by the way are not LeadsOnline users, and although these aren't huge cases, the owners will be happy to be reunited with their property.

Thieves Get 10-20 Years in Case Solved Using LeadsOnline
I was assigned a Burglary and Break/Enter to a home and storage building. A Craftsman lawn mower was taken sometime between 1/21/10 and 2/2/10, when the thefts were discovered. I checked our local pawn shops for this date range for a Craftsman mower and found where one had been pawned on 1/27/10 (not the season for push mowers).
I was able to determine it was in fact the mower of my victim, an elderly man. I was able to interview the person who pawned the mower and the results were a full confession to more than $1,000 of additional property that was taken --- that the victim didn't even realize. In addition, an additional suspect was identified and also gave a confession. One is now serving 10 years and the other 20 years, thanks to finding my mower using LeadsOnline.

Busting a Family Tradition of Pawning Stolen Items
During another investigation, I noticed some suspicious pawn transactions from a mother, son, and daughter. This Stillwater family had pawned numerous MP3 players and video cameras at several different Oklahoma City pawn shops. These transactions were all within 3-4 days and spread out across several pawn shops in the OKC area. There were approximately 15-20 similar electronic items pawned.
I contacted the company that sold the specific MP3 player and learned the mother currently worked at a Return Center in Stillwater and was one of their more “trusted employees.” I also learned of large amounts of electronic products mysteriously disappearing from the company, in which the company’s own investigation had yielded no viable suspects. After showing the management the recent pawn transactions from LeadsOnline, they determined this trusted employee (and some of her co-workers) were actually embezzling large amounts of electronics from the company.

Unknown actor(s) were stealing mail, including checks written by the victims to pay bills, from mailboxes in Johnson County. The actor(s) were taking the information from the checks and printing up new checks. While investigating the identity theft, I discovered one of the fraudulent checks had been written to Gamestop for more than $300.00. I contacted Loss Prevention at Gamestop and requested the serial number for the unit that had been purchased with the fraudulent check.
Once I received this information, I checked the serial number through LeadsOnline and located the unit which had been pawned. After checking out the suspect, I learned he had been arrested for fraud and other offenses in the past. I shared this information with an investigator at the U.S. Postal Inspector’s Office. It turned out this individual was responsible for mail theft and identity theft in numerous jurisdictions; therefore, it was adopted by the U.S. Postal Inspector’s Office and filed through the federal courts. ...All because of LeadsOnline!

Detailed Descriptions on Pawn Shop Records Identify Stolen Items
A Shreveport resident called me in my office in reference to a theft that occurred at his home. The victim explained that his cousin came to his residence to borrow some money. When the victim went into another room of the residence, his cousin collected several items belonging to the victim, and fled.
The victim called me after hearing the suspect pawned one of the items, an Xbox 360 and its peripherals, at a local pawn shop; however, he was unable to provide the serial number for the items. Using the LeadsOnline database, I was able to research the suspect's information to determine the suspect pawned the items reported stolen, around the time the theft occurred.
Having this information, the police department's pawn investigator, Detective Courtney responded to the business in an effort to verify the items pawned belonged to the victim. Det. Courtney was able to verify descriptive information exclusive to the victim's video game console, corroborating information the victim provided. The items pawned were placed on hold with the pawn shop, and a warrant was obtained for the suspect's arrest.
A Caddo Parish District Court Judge signed a warrant charging the suspect with one count of Felony Theft and the suspect was arrested. Thanks LeadsOnline!

One LeadsOnline Search Solves Multiple Crimes
ONE SEARCH SOLVES MULTIPLE CRIMES.
I received a burglary report from patrol that listed stolen items, however no suspect information existed, and there wasn't any evidence recovered at the scene. As usual, the victims did not have the serial numbers listed for their stolen items.
I ran a generic check on LeadsOnline for one of the stolen items: an acoustic Fender guitar. Of particular interest was a male who had pawned an acoustic Fender guitar in an a city about thirty miles away, the same day as the burglary. I then ran a search of that male's pawn activity and saw that he had pawned a digital camera just three days later, matching the description of the one stolen in the burglary.
I was able to contact the pawn shops and after they emailed me photos of the stolen items, I was able to confirm with the victim that the items were in fact theirs and that the person who had pawned them was their son-in-law. The items were recovered and the suspect was arrested. Upon the suspect's arrest, we located a stolen credit card on his person from a vehicle prowl that patrol deputies were taking the report on just a few miles down the road. A search of his residence turned up evidence from another burglary in an adjoining jurisdiction, to which the suspect ultimately confessed, as well as to burglarizing his in-laws' residence.
Had it not been for LeadsOnline and the service that you provide, these cases would have probably never been solved and the property never recovered.

We received a case assignment concerning theft of property during a residential move. THe victim had using a moving company. After the move, the victim noticed that a pair of diamond earrings valued over $5,000 was missing. The victim had the name of an employee who had been alone briefly inside the master bedroom, where the jewelry was kept. A report was filed by victim, but a search on the suspect's name came back without a lead. We then cross referenced the property description, which led to locating property outside our jurisdiction, in Nashville. LeadsOnline Finds the Criminals' Buddies Too
A residential burglary occurred in late September 2009. Latent print evidence was recovered that eventually identified a suspect in the case. Further investigation revealed that the suspect had two known associates, one of which had no prior criminal record. He was subsequently found and arrested for Trafficking in Stolen Property.

Stolen iPod Posted for Sale Online: Police Use LeadsOnline and eBay to Arrest Thief
While visiting my parents for the holidays on Long Island, my $250 iPod was stolen from my car. So, the next day I decided to see how much it would cost to replace it with a used one on eBay. And then, just for the heck of it, I decided to check new listings within a 10-mile radius of where my parents live …. and boom! There was my iPod, in the exact case I bought for it, for sale on eBay! I contacted the local police to see if there was anything I could do to get my iPod back. I was put in touch with a detective in the computer crimes department.
I knew it was definitely my iPod after the officer told me to enlarge the photo in the listing because he said there was a photo visible on the iPod screen. Sure enough the stupid thief took a picture of MY iPod for his listing while one of MY personal photos was showing on the screen. Plus, this genius thief posted a photo of the backside of the iPod, showing MY serial number. Really, a smart guy, huh?
I went to the police station and showed the same photo on the eBay listing that was on my wife's iPod because we have all the same photos. As soon as he saw that, the detective was convinced it was my iPod and was able to track down the seller through LeadsOnline. Best of all, the police and arrested the guy just hours later!
What might have taken the detective weeks to find with subpoenas, LeadsOnline helped him accomplish in mere hours. Thanks to you guys the thief was arrested, has to face criminal charges.
And this is all thanks to LeadsOnline and your partnership with eBay. YOU GUYS ARE ROCKSTARS!

Using Serial Numbers to Solve Cases
I am a detective assigned to investigate burglaries and thefts. I was assigned a burglary in which over $10,000 of tools were taken from a warehouse. The victim gave me information on a person he suspected to have committed the burglary. Before I could contact that person, the victim contacted me with serial numbers for some of the stolen property. Using the pawn shop search in LeadsOnline, I was able to locate some of the stolen property in another jurisdiction. I was able to recover property at two pawn shops, identify a suspect and recover additional property at his residence. Video from one of the pawn shops allowed me to identify a second suspect. Neither suspect was the person named by the victim. LeadsOnline was able to eliminate wasted time in my investigation as well as identify the suspects in the case.

$50,000 of Stolen Jewelry Recovered
"A burglary of a residence occurred in our city on December 30, 2009. Several items of jewelry and a television were stolen. There were no real leads in the case, so I checked LeadsOnline using a broader description of the stolen items. I located a watch possbily meeting the description bases on how the pawn shop described it and value. I went to the pawn shop and located the serial number of that watch. The value of that watch was nearly $30,000. From the store video, we were able to identify two of the four suspects. An arrest was made in the case. Later, I had a possible hit on one of the other stolen watches. I was able to later identify this watch being stolen with the value of $20,000. In both cases the serial numbers were not recorded by the pawn shops. The search was done on name and series of the watches. The victim had given up hope of the property ever being recovered. This is why I use broader searches."

Suspect Denies Crimes --- But LeadsOnline Proves Otherwise
LeadsOnline was instrumental in the arrest of a burglary suspect. We had previously interviewed the suspect who was denying involvement in the crime. We let him go and continued the investigation. Using LeadsOnline we were able to find out that he had pawned a ladies ring two towns over. We obtained a detailed description of the ring from the victim and went to examine the pawned ring. The ring was identical to the one described by the victim. We took possession of the ring and the elderly victim was able to positively identify it as being her mother’s 50th anniversary wedding ring. Using the information that we now had we were able to elicit a confession for the burglary from a previously uncooperative suspect. When faced with the evidence that LeadsOnline provided us we were able get a confession and the victim was able to recover a family heirloom.

Why not create an in-house agency pawn system?
1. Leadsonline is a much faster system. Our in-house system is backlogged anywhere from 2 weeks to 6 months.
2. Leadsonline is an electronic system. Our in-house system has numerous stores that do not transfer data electronically. We have to pick up the pawn slips and have them entered into our system by hand.
3. Leadsonline is nationwide. Our in-house system can only search systems in Austin. The bad guys know this and will take stolen property to different cities to pawn.
4. Leadsonline is potentially more accurate. Leadsonline data only has to be entered once electronically. Using our in-house system, the data may have to be hand entered more than once. This can create errors.
5. Leadsonline has additional helpful info. Leadsonline has more data concerning phone numbers and addresses of the businesses right on the search page.

Multiple Thefts Across Three Jurisdictions
“I was assigned a Stealing Over $500 investigation involving an employee from a carpet cleaning company. While cleaning victims’ carpets, the employee stole three very expensive rings. During the course of my investigation, I entered the employee’s name into LeadsOnline in an attempt to locate him. The employee is an immigrant from Iraq, and due to his unusual name, I entered just the first name into the LeadsOnline system, which came up with a match. He sold four pieces of jewelry to a pawn shop in St. Charles City (a neighboring county). The victim in my case identified one of the rings as being hers. The ring recovered was valued at $1800.00.
I spoke with the St. Charles City, Missouri Police Department about the offense. Det. Gary Drury from St. Charles City advised me that he possibly had a case on the employee. After speaking with me, he was also able to make a case on the employee.
Through further investigation, I found that the Crestwood, Missouri Police Department also had an interest in the employee. After relaying information to Det. Applebaum from Crestwood, he was able to make the case.
In total, the employee pawned 15 items of jewelry at area pawnshops. He is currently pending trial in circuit court.
Without LeadsOnline, this case may have gone unsolved.”

“In August 2004, I investigated a felon in possession of a firearm case. I had received information that the suspect was currently living in Medford, Oregon and was in possession of a stolen handgun taken out of burglary in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
I ran the suspect’s name through LEADS and got a hit. The suspect had sold/pawned three digital cameras at a pawn shop in Tulsa prior to coming out to Oregon. The cameras were taken out of the same burglary as the firearm. When I questioned the suspect about pawning any of the stolen property he initially denied it. I was able to show him the LEADS hit and he eventually admitted to his involvement and the property was recovered by the victim.
This stolen property would have never been located using our old “hand search” method. LEADS not only allowed us to check local businesses, but other locations outside of our jurisdiction.”

NCIC - Multiple Burglaries
“I would like to inform Leads Online of success stories from the Little Rock Police Department.
The first occurred on September 23, 2004, when I was contacted by one of my Burglary victims. Mr. Smith requested I look up a person he thought might be involved in his burglary. I took the name and ran it in your system, but did not receive any information on this subject.
I decided to check the articles and guns in the NCIC area of LeadsOnline. I do this on a weekly basis to check weapons. Mr. Smith had also talked to me about the weapons taken in the burglary of his home. I started going down the list and noticed two weapons that matched the description of the ones taken in Mr. Smith's burglary. Mr. Smith did not have his serial numbers recorded, but stated he could identify the weapons. After calling Mr. Smith I inquired about a television he had reported and it also matched what this person had pawned.
After making an appointment to meet Mr. Smith at the pawn shop, I continued to search the NCIC report. To cut a long story short, I located two other hits on the same page. I was able to solve three burglaries assigned to me within a 15-minute span and recover over $5,000.00 in property.
On November 3, 2004, I located a stolen weapon from Grant County, Arkansas. After checking the name of the person who pawned the weapon using LeadsOnline, I also located where he had pawned an additional three weapons. The weapons have been secured through the Police Hold section of LeadsOnline and warrants will be filed on this subject.
I want to send my gratitude to LeadsOnline for this website. This site is one of the greatest tools a Police Officer could dream of. I would recommend LeadsOnline to all agencies in Law Enforcement.”

Theft - Power Tools
“Det. Neal was assigned to investigate the theft of two power drills valued at $2250.00 each, that were stolen from a business here in the City of Berkeley. Det. Neal successfully used LeadsOnline and located the two drills at two area pawn shops.
LeadsOnline not only provided Det. Neal with the name of the pawn shops where the drills were pawned, it also provided him with the date and time the drills were pawned as well as the name, address and telephone number of the subject who pawned them.
The drills were recovered and reunited with the owner and a subject was arrested and charged with the theft. Warrants were issued and bond set at $5000.00.
LeadsOnline has been a very valuable tool for this department, as well as others. Thank you for this very important investigative system.”

Multiple Robberies - Business
“Our agency was investigating a robbery of a local pawn shop. Surrounding cities were also working robberies of pawn shops believed to be done by the same people, about 25 robberies in all. While talking to another pawn shop, the manager told me about LeadsOnline. I contacted LeadsOnline and was setup for a free month.
During my investigation, I received a name of a suspect. I put his name in and was shocked to see all the transactions. I, along with the loss prevention employee, went to the pawn shops listed and recovered nearly $6000.00 in stolen jewelry. This enabled me to obtain a warrant on the suspect. It also helped other jurisdictions. He was later picked up on a warrant. I believe this would not have been possible without LeadsOnline.
Our city council did not hesitate to purchase your service. Thanks again, and I look forward to LeadsOnline helping me with all my cases!!!!”

Theft
“In July 2003, I received a case file where an elderly lady hired a caretaker to help her around her apartment because of an illness she had. Items started coming up missing, including a one-of-a-kind custom made diamond ring given to her by her deceased husband. The suspect of course denied she ever stole anything from the lady.
I ran her name and her daughter’s name through LeadsOnline and discovered numerous pawns at 2 pawn shop locations by both the suspect and her daughter. I found the stolen ring at one of the pawn shops, and the manager not only had the signed pawn ticket by the suspect, he was able to identify the suspect as the person who pawned the ring.
The suspect had been stealing from her elderly clients and pawning the stolen jewelry. I reported her to the state licensing department and had her license revoked. The suspect was also charged with a Felony for stealing. The victim was so happy to be able to get her late husband's keepsake back.”

Multiple Burglaries - Business
“I had several burglaries of Brake Check stores in June 2004. The suspects stole numerous tools. There were no suspects or leads. No new burglaries of Brake Checks occurred until October 2004.
We developed a name of a suspect and ran pawn searches [on LeadsOnline]. Not only did we find the tools stolen in October and November but also the ones stolen in the June burglaries as well. All were dutifully recorded in the Leadsonline database. We can more than likely clear 11 Burglaries, 2 auto thefts and one burglary of a vehicle all thanks to Leadsonline.”

Robbery & Burglary Suspects - No Place to Hide
“Just to let you know, I have been using the LeadsOnline web search system on the free trial for a few days now. So far, I have found two robbery and burglary suspects located in Montgomery, AL - which is located 140 miles from Jacksonville, AL. We knew that the suspects had moved from the Jacksonville area but did not know where. It appears that the two suspects have been pawning jewelry, which is suspected of being stolen.
We notified Montgomery PD of the two suspects and advised of their history. We were advised by Montgomery PD that the two were also suspects in a number of crimes it that area as well. We were able to advise Montgomery of information we had on the two suspects that will connect them to other crimes.
We would not have been able to obtain this information without LeadsOnline. Thank you.”

Burglary - Cross-Jurisdictional
“I just wanted to pass along another success story. We had a report of items stolen from a residence with a good known suspect. We found out the suspect had left the area, so we decided to run his name through LeadsOnline and we were able to locate stolen items he sold in Nashville, Tennessee.
When the suspect returned to our jurisdiction we confronted him with the knowledge and solved the case. This was a felony in Missouri and charges are pending.
Without LeadsOnline, I don’t believe we would have ever known for sure where these items were sold. Thanks again for providing this valuable service to Law Enforcement for a reasonable cost!”

Real Numbers - Real Impact
“Since January of this year we have recovered approximately $8,000 in property as a direct result of Leads Online. This has resulted in 17 criminal charges being filed with our District Attorney’s office and has solved/closed 10 felony cases.
This is a very helpful tool for Law Enforcement.”

Multiple Burglaries - Jewelry
“Recently I had a case where an elderly woman was burglarized multiple times. She even had her lock changed because she thought it was someone who may have had a key. It ended up being another woman who had befriended the victim.
This woman [suspect] knew of the elderly lady through her daughter. She worked her way into the house by saying that she wanted to meet the woman who was so close to her daughter. The elderly lady let her in because the eventual thief was so nice, charming, and pleasant. Apparently during these encounters the woman would ask to use the bathroom, but instead would go to the bedroom and steal the victim’s jewelry. This occurred several different times.
Prior to our discovering who the suspect was, the woman asked to borrow $40 dollars from the victim. The following day the [suspect] returned the borrowed $40 dollars and offered to do some small cleaning for the victim. After the [suspect] left, the victim went to return the borrowed $40 dollars to a hidden location in her home, and realized $160 cash was missing. The [suspect] was the only person other than the victim's daughter who knew where the money was kept. The beat officer interviewed the [suspect] about the missing money, however she denied any involvement.
Now having a new possible suspect name to look at, I searched LeadsOnline's database and received a hit on the woman's name. She had pawned jewelry on several different dates all at one pawnshop. The dates of the pawns were checked against the dates of the previously reported burglaries. The dates all matched the same time period. A police hold was placed on the items and photos taken. The photos were shown to the victim, who, upon seeing her missing rings, began to cry. She stated she thought she would never see the rings again, which included her wedding rings and a 50th anniversary ring her husband gave her.
During this investigation, a second burglary victim was also discovered. She likewise had jewelry stolen. This victim lived in the same area and never suspected the woman who lived across from her was responsible for burglarizing her home.
Thank you, LeadsOnline - without your service I may never had solved these burglaries, let alone had enough evidence against the suspected woman to lock her into a solid case. When the suspect was interviewed, she denied any knowledge of the victim's property being stolen. After showing her the pictures of the jewelry now positively identified by the victims along with the LeadsOnline printout of her activity concerning the pawns, she confessed to the burglaries, thus giving a written statement. With LeadsOnline's database it was easy to link everything to the suspect, recover the property and clear the offenses.
Just from these two cases I recovered several thousands of dollars of jewelry.
I would also like to thank the Pawnshop involved, as they were very professional and helpful in this investigation as well as their help in returning the victims property.”

Burglary
“I have nothing but good things to say regarding the Leads Online program. It allows investigators to get the jump on locating property from victims who have been violated, in every sense of the word.
Most recently, I was investigating a burglary of a residence where jewelry, laptop computers, and various other electronic equipment was stolen. The backdoor was kicked open and the house was ransacked throughout. The victim was devastated because his Rolex watch had been listed as a piece of property that was stolen. The watch was expensive, but also had sentimental value attached. The serial number of the watch was made available, and I ran it through Leads Online. Within a few seconds I located the watch which had been pawned in an adjacent city. The watch was recovered and returned to the owner, who was enthusiastically happy that he was able to have his watch back.
As a result, I was able to convict the suspect who committed the burglary above. This case would not have been solved if it wasn’t for the Leads Online program.
Leads Online is a valuable tool for police investigators to use in the recovery of stolen property and the identification of suspects.”

Burglary - Habitation
“In the early morning hours, Cedar Park Police Department stopped two white males named Daniel and Eric. Daniel and Eric were stopped while carrying several large black bags containing numerous items, which would lead a good officer to believe that a burglary of a habitation occurred.
During the stop, CPPD found Daniel was in possession of a meth pipe, and he was arrested. Well, Eric was set free with out any of the property, so CPPD thought. CPPD requested my department check by a residence. Our Deputy found that the residence had been burglarized. We did not find any physical evidence connecting Daniel or Eric to the residence, other than the recovered property.
I interviewed Daniel in jail, and got nowhere. Daniel's story was that he bumped into Eric and he was carrying all the property. Eric's story was that he bumped into Daniel and he was carrying all the property. Then the story changed to 'they found the property'.
Well to make a long story short, I conducted a check on Eric through Leads Online, and found that he had pawned a collector's Elvis Zippo lighter, which belonged to the victim. Leads Online showed that Eric pawned the lighter on the same day they where stopped by CPPD.
I confronted Eric with the Leads Online information and he then provided me a written statement, which landed burglary charges on both Daniel and Eric. Eric stated that he had hid the lighter in his sock, while he was being searched by CPPD.
This is just one story of how Leads Online has changed the course of my investigation, from possession of stolen property to burglary of a habitation. I have used Leads Online to successfully locate missing persons, track wanted suspects, and in one incident I was able to catch a complainant/victim in an insurance fraud scam.
I recommend Leads Online to any Department or Pawnshop establishment.”

Identity Theft - Internet
“I checked leadsonline for a subject who was arrested in Panola, Texas. The subject confessed that he had been committing ID Theft on the Internet. He advised that he had pawned several items in Shreveport, Louisiana. Checking with leadsonline, I found that he had pawned a computer. This computer is the computer he used to commit the crimes. I filled out the leadsonline pawn hold form, faxed it to the pawn shop and picked up the item. Thanks.”
