Be On the Lookout: ReportIt

In our latest Be on the Lookout, there is a way you can help law enforcement track your stolen belongings.

It's call ReportIt, the citizen property management system.

It's a proactive online tool that allows you to easily catalog information about your valuables.

This includes serial numbers, owner applied numbers, photos of property, and scans of receipts.

The reason it is proactive is you do this before you become a victim.

ReportIt is free and can store up to 100 items, but it's only available to people living in the jurisdictions that it's parent company, LeadsOnline, serves.

At least one jurisdiction in our area used them, Marion, Illinois. The police department has a link on their website.
