ReportIt launches in Brunswick County

By Kasey Cunningham

August 5, 2014

The Brunswick County Sheriff's Office is recommending a free program to help recover missing and stolen items. The sheriff's office just launched their use of the program just last week.

According the sheriff's office, ReportIt is a way for residents to keep track of their property in case of theft. ReportIt is free and secure, according to the sheriff's office.

If an item is stolen, information logged on ReportIt can be handed over to police. This way, they know you are the rightful owner of the property.

The website can store up to 100 items and uses receipts, photos and serial numbers to catalog items.

Without proper documentation and record of stolen properties, sheriffs deputies said it is almost impossible to recover.
