A man who San Antonio police said has a history of burglarizing vehicles has been arrested in connection with another case in which a $7,000 bracelet was stolen from a car.

Police arrested Samuel Hernandez, 35, on charges of theft and burglary of a vehicle.

An arrest warrant affidavit stated that a 63-year-old woman contacted police March 28, telling them that someone had broken into her car outside a McDonald's restaurant in the 3500 block of Culebra Road.

She also told police her purse, containing a $14,000 gold James Avery charm bracelet, had been taken from the car.

The affidavit stated that the bracelet is worth about $7,000. Investigators said they checked an online database and located the stolen jewelry at a local pawn shop.

After speaking with workers there, police said they determined the bracelet actually had been sold to the pawn shop by a gold buying business.

The affidavit stated that detectives also found evidence showing Hernandez is the person who sold the bracelet to the gold buyer.

Records show Hernandez has been arrested at least three times before for breaking into cars.
