Madison police used a serial number to make an arrest and find a stolen stolen gaming system.
Travis W. Pollack, 23, of Madison, was arrested for theft and a probation hold on Thursday afternoon after police used a serial number and online tracking system to find him.
The victim, who reported a burglary on Troy Drive Nov. 21, provided the serial number for a stolen PlayStation 3. Officers ran the number through LeadsOnline and found the system had been sold to Game Stop, 54 East Towne Mall. Police obtained the name of the customer who sold the stolen merchandise, who quickly became a suspect.
