A Cleburne County woman suspected in a local home burglary has surrendered to authorities.
The Baxter County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) arrested Mandy Lee Butkovich, 37, of Tumbling Shoals when she turned herself in at the Detention Center on Sept. 30 at 3 p.m. on an outstanding felony bench warrant.
The BCSO says its investigators had obtained the warrant on May 16 after an investigation into a burglary reported at 85 Plane Tree Ln. on April 21.
The victim told investigators that he had allowed a friend to use this vacation home on April 7. When the victim returned to the residence on April 21, he found the home had been burglarized. He reported a phone, clothing, tackle box, binoculars, and alcohol with a total value of about $735 were stolen.
The BCSO says the victim found out that Butkovich, his friend's ex-wife, had also been at the residence on April 7. Investigators found that she had pawned several of the stolen items at a pawn shop in Heber Springs.
Butkovich is charged with residential burglary and theft of property. She was released from custody after posting bond a $15,000 bond. She also posted a second bond on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant from another jurisdiction.
Butkovich will appear in Baxter County Circuit Court to answer on Oct. 2.
