A man was shot and killed in Round Rock's Chandler Creek neighborhood earlier this month.
An arrest warrant filed in Travis County Courts show Jerrod Stanford was found dead from gunshot wounds on Sept. 16 in a home on Chandler Crossing Trail. Police say they got tipped off to the death by an inmate in the Travis County Jail and by the odor coming from the house.
Investigators noticed several firearms were missing from the home. Detectives found one of the weapons had been sold to an Austin pawn shop on Sept. 6, a day after the Stanford was last seen alive.
The death came to light as KXAN retrieved a court document Friday that charged a man with theft of a firearm. According to the document, Jerrion Laderriere Barr sold the firearm to a pawn shop. He told investigators he purchased the gun from a prostitute for 7 ounces of marijuana. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
The Williamson County Sheriff's Office would only confirm they have an active homicide investigation at an address on Chandler Crossing Trail.
