January 17, 2014

Police have arrested a Louisville man accused of breaking into several homes.

According to an arrest report, 52-year-old Steven Goff admitted to breaking into a home on Dec. 8 in the 1900 block Sills Avenue. Police say cash, credit cards and a digital camera were taken from the home. Police say they have video footage of Green using the stolen cards.

Goff also told police he tried to break into another home in the 2100 block of Alta Avenue on Dec. 30, but stopped after a neighbor confronted him.

Police say Goff admitted breaking into another home in the 6200 block of Jeanene Drive on Jan. 9 and stealing guns and jewelry.

The arrest report says Goff told officers he entered the home through the back door and stole a shotgun, a pistol and jewelry. Goff told police he took the guns "somewhere downtown and sold them" to an unknown person for $100 each.

Police say Goff sold the jewelry to the Mr. Money pawn shop in the 4900 block of Preston Highway. Police took pictures of the jewelry and showed them to the victim who was able to positively identify the items, which were returned.

Goff, who already has several felony convictions on his record, now faces several charges, including two counts of burglary, one count of attempted burglary and one count of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
